How do I know my printer is accessible on the Wi-Fi network?

Follow the directions in your Printer User Manual or the Quick Start Guide.

I can’t find my printer on my wireless network. What should I do?

Please ensure that:
Your printer is a PrintJinni supported printer (refer to Specifications).
The printer has been setup using Wi-Fi guidelines as per the Printer User Manual.
The printer is turned ON.
Your printer is connected to the same network as your Apple iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.
If you know your printer’s IP address, it can be entered manually.

Alternatively, if your printer is installed on a Microsoft Windows PC/Apple Mac computer, please ensure that:
The printer and Microsoft Windows PC/Apple Mac computer are turned ON.
Your Microsoft Windows PC/Apple Mac computer is connected to the same network as your Apple iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.
The printer is shared on the Microsoft Windows PC/Apple Mac computer.
If you know your PC IP address, it can be entered manually.

(For more information, please refer to:
Printer sharing on an Apple Mac computer
Printer sharing on Microsoft Windows XP
Printer sharing on Microsoft Windows Vista
Printer sharing on Microsoft Windows 7.)

I can’t find the printer that I have manually added and validated. Why?

PrintJinni (Apple iOS Version) does not store manually added printers. It has to be re-entered.

Why can’t I preview/print even though I am trying to print a supported file?

Your PrintJinni Services subscription might have expired. Please check the validity of your subscription under “Buy Services”.

Why am I not able to print Microsoft Office documents, or access the full functionality of the app?

This can occur due to either of the following:
You have chosen to install PrintJinni (Apple iOS Version) in the Limited Use Option restricting its wireless mobile printing functionality. Download and reinstall the app again and complete the registration process as instructed.
Your subscription to PrintJinni Services has expired. Please use “Buy Services” to purchase a new PrintJinni Services subscription pack.

When I type/paste a URL in the address bar to print a webpage and hit go, I get an error. Why does that happen?

Sometimes when you are in an authorized session and try to print, the URL request sent to the web server will get rejected as the logged session cannot be validated and will result in an error. For such pages, select and copy the content you wish to print from your browser and use PrintJinni (Apple iOS Version)’s “Paste Board” to print.

When I type/paste a URL in the address bar and hit go, it takes a really long time to generate a preview. Why?

You might have checked the option to download background and linked image. Enabling this option will considerably increase the time taken to generate a preview as there is much more content to add to the preview. Uncheck the option and try again.

When I preview/print a webpage in PrintJinni (Apple iOS Version), I do not see all the content. Why?

Complex webpages with several or dynamic elements may not preview or print accurately in the current release of PrintJinni (Apple iOS Version).

When I copy some content from a webpage and try to paste the same into “Paste Board”, all the content copied does not get pasted. Why?

Yes, sometimes all copied content does not get pasted into “Paste Board”. Alternatively, if you are in a non-secure session, you can print using “Webpage Printing”.

I am unable to print photos from my Facebook, Flickr or Picasa account. Why?

You may not be able to print photos from your Facebook, Flickr or Picasa account due to the following:
You have selected the Limited Use Option at the time of registration. Download and reinstall the app again and complete the registration process as instructed.
You may not have access to your account due to network problems. Check your network connection.
Your credentials may be incorrect. Try re-entering them in “Social Networks”.

Why does my printer print a red page?

It is very likely that your printer is not supported. Please check your printer manual to make sure it is a PrintJinni supported printer (refer to Specifications) (For more details please refer to your respective manufacturer: Dell, Epson HP, Lexmark, OKI, Ricoh, Samsung, Xerox.)

If your printer is not compatible PrintJinni (Apple iOS Version) can still support it, if it can be connected (via parallel port, USB or the network) to:
an Apple Mac computer that is available through a Wi-Fi network
a Microsoft Windows PC that is available through a Wi-Fi network with a Microsoft Windows Server
a PC running Microsoft Windows Server software that is available through a Wi-Fi network

What if the paper size selected using PrintJinni (Apple iOS Version) does not match the paper in the printer tray?

Open the printer tray, reset the tray slot and replace the existing paper with the required size.

What if the paper size I have is not supported by PrintJinni (Apple iOS Version)?

Print to any size smaller than the paper available in the printer. Else, the content in your document that is beyond the paper size may not get printed.

Why am I not able to obtain a duplex print?

Please refer to your printer manual to check if your printer supports duplex printing.

I have a ‘paper jam’ on my printer. What should I do?

You will need to clear the jam and once that is done, the printer will restart printing. The print job may need to be re-initiated.

Do I need to re-print from PrintJinni (Apple iOS Version) if there was no paper in the printer tray?

This depends on the size of the job. One-page documents should be saved in your printer’s memory and would normally print after a paper reload. For longer documents or color image, they may have to be resent.
