How do I know my Dell printer is accessible on the Wi-Fi network?

Follow the directions in your Dell Printer User Manual or the Quick Start Guide.

I can’t find my Dell printer on my wireless network. What should I do?

Please ensure that:
Your Dell printer is supported by Mobile Print App for Dell.
The printer has been setup using Wi-Fi guidelines as per the Printer User Manual.
The printer is turned ON.
Your Dell printer is connected to the same network as your Apple iPhone, iPod touch, iPod or iPad mini.
If you know your Dell printer’s IP address, it can be entered manually.

I can’t find the printer that I have manually added and validated. Why?

Mobile Print App for Dell does not store a manually-added printer. Unless it has been set as “Default”, it has to be re-entered.

The name I provided for a manually-added printer does not appear in the printer list. Why?

Presently, the printer list shows only the printer model name for a manually-added printer. This is a known issue that will be addressed in a future release.

Why can’t I preview/print even though I am trying to print a supported file?

You have chosen to install Mobile Print App for Dell in the Limited Use Option restricting its wireless mobile printing functionality. Download and reinstall the app again and complete the registration process as instructed.

You have chosen to install Mobile Print App for Dell in the Limited Use Option restricting its wireless mobile printing functionality. Download and reinstall the app again and complete the registration process as instructed.

When I type/paste a URL in the address bar to print a webpage and hit go, I get an error. Why does that happen?

Sometimes when you are in an authorized session and try to print, the URL request sent to the web server will get rejected as the logged session cannot be validated and will result in an error. For such pages, select and copy the content you wish to print from your browser and use Mobile Print App for Dell’s “Paste Board” to print.

When I preview/print a webpage in Mobile Print App for Dell, I do not see all the content. Why?

Complex webpages with several or dynamic elements may not preview or print accurately in the current release of Mobile Print App for Dell.

When I type/paste a URL in the address bar and hit go, it takes a really long time to generate a preview. Why?

You might have checked the option to download background and linked image. Enabling this option will considerably increase the time taken to generate a preview as there is much more content to add to the preview. Uncheck the option and try again.

When I copy some content from a webpage and try to paste the same into “Paste Board”, all the content copied does not get pasted. Why?

Yes, sometimes all copied content does not get pasted into “Paste Board”. Alternatively, if you are in a non-secure session, you can print using “Webpage Printing”.

Why does my printer print a red page?

It is very likely that your Dell printer is not supported. Please refer to the Specifications section for a complete list of supported Dell models.

What if the paper size selected using Mobile Print App for Dell does not match the paper in the printer tray?

Open the printer tray, reset the tray slot and replace the existing paper with the required size.

I have a ‘paper jam’ on my printer. What should I do?

You will need to clear the jam and once that is done, the printer will restart printing. The print job may need to be re-initiated.

Do I need to re-print from Mobile Print App for Dell if there was no paper in the printer tray?

This depends on the size of the job. One-page documents should be saved in your printer’s memory and would normally print after a paper reload. For longer documents or color image, they may have to be resent.
